The cost of setting up in chickens include that of the chickens themselves together with any capital equipment. This will include the chicken coop, any netting or fencing, feeders and drinkers. You may at some later stage decide you want to read your own chicks then you will require small incubator. This equipment should last many years so over this period of time the initial outlay will be considered very good value.
Running costs are also low. You'll need to purchase pelleted feeds, cereals and vitamins. The overall costs of these are small. In return you get the excitement and joy and collecting your own eggs from hay filled nest boxes which more than makes up for any hardship in keeping your chickens or the cost involved in setting up them up the first place.
